Meet The Sweet Spot Graphic Card, Asus GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL

Looking for a graphic card that have power, reliability and performance package in one good looking aesthetic design? ASUS has the answer.

So… today, I’m gonna review a new line series of graphic card from ASUS called the ‘DUAL’ series. Thanks to my humble friend who loaned me this graphic card for the review.

The ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL graphics card is loaded with innovative new gaming technologies, making it the perfect choice for the latest high-definition games. Powered by NVIDIA Pascal—the most advanced GPU architecture ever created—the GeForce GTX 1060 delivers brilliant performance that opens the door to virtual reality and beyond.

This advanced card comes with ultra-fast FinFET technology and supports DirectX 12 features. This means you can count on an amazing experience in every application—including performance in high-definition and immersive VR Ready games that’s up to 3x faster than the previous-generation GPUs. More about pascal.

Short story about my friend who bargained this graphic card for me, he said “You wanna test this new lines series graphic? It’s ‘DUAL 1060’ “.The first thing that went through my mind is that he wanted to bring dual graphic of 1060, and SLI – ing those graphic, but i’m wrong, he did not literally mentioned ‘DUAL’ as dual graphic of the graphic, but the series name is actually ‘DUAL’. LOL
Don’t get confused about it, I just want to share this hilarious story to you guys! Are you still laughing? Ohh C’mon, I won’t continue this review until you stop laughing on me! ~just kidding. 😛

Oh, in case you don’t know about SLI, Scalable Link Interface (SLI) is a brand name for a multi-GPU technology developed by NVIDIA for linking two or more video cards together to produce a single output.

well, let’s jump to the ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL.

  • Unboxing:

The package is quite solid, like the package that we found on ‘STRIX’ series and bringing satisfaction while unboxing.

The box.

Now lets open the box, shall we? The honor while opening the box is obvious. *Laaaaa, background sound*.

Opening the Box.

After you open the box, things that you gonna see are Driver CD installation (I recommend you download the latest driver from Nvidia site), quick start guide (toss it to the trash can *kidding* lol), and the graphic card itself.

  • Design & aesthetic:

About design, ASUS has some key design on their ‘DUAL’ series, such as Patented wing-blade fans, this part actually my fav part of the design, like we found on their other graphic series like ‘STRIX’. This patented Wing-Blade design will delivers maximum airflow and improved 105% static pressure over the heat sink, while operation at 3x quieter volumes than reference GEFORCE GTX 1060. And here the fan, comparing side by side with ‘STRIX’ series, its the same, don’t they ?

  • Feature & Performance:

Now we take a look at feature and performance that comes with this graphic card. Asus Auto-Extreme Technology: with super alloy power II, like his brother series ‘STRIX’, the ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL is assembled by automated production process for premium quality and reliability, it’s means the graphic card 100% manufactured by machine.

And the best part of this software is, you can access all that on-the-fly, even in-game all in one click, sounds cool right? Last but not least, the Spec of this graphic.

ASUS Geforce GTX1060 Specs

Oh ya, I forgot to mention about THE LATEST GAMING TECHNOLOGIES that comes with it.

Get the power to drive next-generation displays, including VR, ultra-high-resolution, and multiple monitors. And bring more realism to every game with NVIDIA GameWorksTM technologies that offer a true cinematic experience and amazing new image-capture to share your game. Below are some benchmark that I run tested on the graphic card.

Furmark firestrike benchmark:

Just reminder, here are the specs that I used:

  • CPU : intel core i5 3570K clocked at @4,5GHz daily (yeah I know this is old, but still mighty)
  • RAM : Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2x kit running at 1866MHz
  • VGA : of corse the ASUS GEFORCE GTX 1060 DUAL OC by ASUS
  • PSU : Corsair RM650 gold modular

Out of the box, this graphic card is capable of getting quite a high score.

Before OverClock .

Looking at the picture, make me feels not satisfied about the result. Then i try some overclock on the graphic and push it to the limits until i get this score.

OverClocked (OC).

I can get OC speed stability at @2088Mz, the results are beyond my expectation. ASUS definitely show their power here at the series and capable running overclock on-par (in terms of OC stability) like their ‘STRIX’ series. And now finally we jump into games benchmark.

Games that I tested here for benchmark are Battlefield 1, the most beautiful fps shooter yet, DiRT Rally, and Rise of The Tomb Raider, the most demanding power for high graphic card yet.

Game Benchmark.

*note: Result may be variate or different from others, considering by specs that is used.

Last but not least, one of the most feature that I like from NVIDIA, the NVIDIA GEFORCE EXPERIENCE.

Okay, about NVIDIA GEFORCE EXPERIENCE, it is the easiest way to update your drivers, optimize your games and share your victory. It’s used by tens of millions of gamers worldwide and you know what? Inside Geforce Experience, NVIDIA has shadow play, this is the BEST software that I like and use to take a screenshot, record any gameplay footage that I wanted, share it to your friends. It’s so easy to use this software, and not only to capture every moment that you wants, GEFORCE EXPERIENCE always reminds you about new drivers that are released by NVIDIA, so you won’t miss any update or searching the update site to site, just open your GEFORCE EXPERIENCE, and…..taadaaa~, you get an update.

  • Final verdict:

And finally, we jump into the conclusion. You do not only get beautiful and elegant design here from ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL series but also you get more than good power reliability and headroom for overclocking. Also, this graphic card is capable for playing any games that I tested on max or highest settings at 1080p.

If you haven’t yet build your own PC or looking for upgrade in the near future, this graphic is the best bet for those who wants to enjoy glorious 1080p resolution at max settings. This graphic series from ASUS is a recommended buy of this generation.

Okay, that’s it. That is my first, literally first time reviewing a graphic card. Hope this article can bring you some advice for upgrading or building your PC
